Winter Fancy Food Show
|If the Winter Fancy Food Show is any indication, 2012 is off to a strong start.
The food show was the largest in its 37-year history and featured 80,000 products from 1,300 exhibitors from 35 countries. Plus, the show, which wrapped up Jan. 17, attracted a record-breaking number of buyers— more than 18,000.
|Sweet Beet and Horseradish Mustard
Terrapin Ridge unveiled four new condiments at AmericasMart and at the Winter Fancy Food Show. Sweet Beet and Horseradish Mustard combines beets and horseradish with whole grain mustard. SRP: $6.50. Other new items include a Cesar Dijon Mustard and two Burger Toppers which have all the condiments needed in one jar. The Sweet Pickle & Onion Burger Topper combines ketchup and mustard with sweet pickle and crunchy diced onions while the Hot Pickled Pepper Burger Topper has three types of hot peppers— banana, chipotle and jalapeno—that are blended with mayonnaise and ketchup. All are available in 9-ounce jars. SRP: $7.
|Applewood Smoked Bacon Mustard
Inglehoffer Applewood Smoked Bacon Mustard blends Beaverton Foods' award-winning Honey Mustard with maple and smoked bacon. The mustard is available in a 10-ounce squeeze bottle. SRP: $3.89-$4.49.
The demand for healthy ready-to-drink beverages is here to stay. Making its show debut was Almond Water from Victoria's Kitchen. Made from water, cane sugar and natural almond flavor, the beverage is available in 16-ounce glass bottles. SRP: $2.69.
34 Degrees added three sweet flavors to its Crispbread line: Cinnamon, Chocolate, Caramel and Graham. These wafer-thin crackers will be available to ship in March. SRP: $4.99 per pack.
Salem Baking Co.
Salem Baking Co., known for its sweet and thin Moravian-style cookies, added a new line of flatbread crackers. Flavors include Rosemary & Olive Oil, Cracked Pepper & Sea Salt, Italian Herb & Tomato, and Cheddar & Chive. SRP: $4.99 per box.
|Pumpkin Seed with Rye Biscuits
Daelia's Food Co. Ltd.
Daelia's Food Co. Ltd. introduced this new savory cracker, or biscuit, at the Summer Fancy Food Show. It is a departure from the other two sweet flavors Almond with Raisin and Hazelnut with Fig. This biscuit pairs well with Alpine style cheeses such as Gruyere and Comte as well as washed-rind cheeses and soft-ripened cheeses. The Pumpkin Seed with Rye biscuits are available in 4-ounce packs. Each case comes with merchandising sleeves for retail displays. SRP: $5.95.
| Multigrain Leksands Crispbread Wedges

Chicago Importing Co. added the multigrain variety from the venerable Swedish brand Leksand. Each 6.7-ounce package of the triangle-shaped crispbread wedges has SRP of $3.69. The Classic is also available.
Choice Organic Teas
Seattle-based Choice Organic Teas is adding four new varieties to its Original line of teas. New varieties include Premium Korean Green, Decaffeinated Green, Masala Chai and Rooibos Chai. Three of the four bagged teas are Fair Trade Certified. All are organic, non-GMO Verified and kosher. The four new teas are will be available in February. The suggested retail price for the teas is $4.69 for a 16-count box.

This new product hits the trifecta of our favorite flavor combinations: chocolate, caramel and sea salt. It's one of the four new dessert topping from Robert Rothschild Farm. Other all natural flavors include Dark Chocolate Sauce, Caramel Sauce, and Raspberry Chocolate Sauce. Available in 14.5-ounce glass jar. SRP: $8.99.
|Gluten-Free Cake Mixes
Italian Food Corp.
These two new gluten-free cake mixes from Italian Foods Corp. are proof that you don't have to give up flavor along with gluten. The LaPiana Hazelnut Cake Mix and LaPiana Almond Cake Mix are made respectively from toasted hazelnut and almond nut flours. To showcase the quality of the ingredients, the 10-ounce mixes are packaged in clear cellophane. SRP: $8.99.
