Tramontina to Expand U.S. Manufacturing Facility
Cookware brand Tramontina USA recently acquired a 256,000-square-foot building adjacent to its existing cookware manufacturing facility in Manitowoc, Wis. The company kicks off construction of an additional 8,600-square-foot office and employee cafeteria with a special groundbreaking ceremony at 3:30 p.m. on March 21 at Tramontina U.S. Cookware at 2005 Mirro Drive in Manitowoc.
Made in the USA
Tramontina has been domestically manufacturing aluminum cookware at the Manitowoc facility since 2005, and has continuously improved processes by upgrading equipment and adding new production lines.
The new manufacturing and distribution center will accommodate future production expansion and new product segments. The new construction includes a large employee cafeteria, new and remodeled office space, quality control and product labs, showroom and a parking lot expansion.
“We are very excited about these projects, as they will expand our production capabilities and better serve our nearly 200 local employees, while providing additional local jobs,” said Antonio Galafassi, president and CEO of Tramontina USA, based in Sugar Land, Texas. “We have been part of the Manitowoc business community for more than a decade, and with the support of an exceptional local workforce and our retail partners, our business operations have grown. We are proud to be supporting American jobs.”
A.C.E. Building Service, located in Manitowoc, will perform the construction work, and substantial completion is expected in late August.
Tramontina U.S. Cookware produces aluminum cookware vessels at the Manitowoc facility. The manufacturing process provides a variety of options for finishes, such as hard anodized, colored ceramic-coated, colored porcelain enamel, bright multi-colored exterior and polished and satin commercial-grade aluminum alloy 3004.
Tramontina USA provides jobs for nearly 700 employees and operates from its campus comprised of four buildings that total nearly two million square feet. The campus hosts its corporate office, manufacturing and assembly lines, warehouses and two distribution centers.
