Sutter Buttes Wins 11 Olive Oil Medals
Several products from Sutter Buttes Natural and Artisan Foods have placed well in olive competitions this year, adding 11 medals to the company’s line of award-winning items. The olive oils were entered in three competitions: Los Angeles International Extra Virgin Olive Oil Competition, Yolo County Olive Oil Competition and Napa Valley Olive Oil Competition.
Garlic Herb Infused Extra Virgin Olive Oil features the fresh flavors of garlic and herbs and can be used in pesto sauces and marinades for a delightful aroma. The oil won silver in all three competitions.
Citrus Habanero Infused Extra Virgin Olive Oil is smooth and rich with the right amount of spicy intensity. The hand-picked, fresh habanero peppers are slowly infused with Meyer Lemon Infused Extra Virgin Olive Oil to create the blend that turns up the heat on almost any dish. It also won silver in all three competitions.
Vanilla Infused Extra Virgin Olive Oil offers a subtle vanilla flavor for a sweetness that offsets the natural bitterness of extra virgin olive oil. It can be used as a replacement for butter or shortening in baking products that call for vanilla. It won silver in the Yolo County competition and bronze in the Napa Valley contest.
Meyer Lemon Infused Extra Virgin features a distinct, light and refreshing flavor that is great for grilling, sautéing or steaming vegetables. It won bronze in the three competitions.
