Imusa Supports Autism Awareness Month
April is Autism Awareness Month, and Imusa, a leading maker of international cookware and small appliances, is supporting the cause. The cookware brand is a sponsor of and participant in the Miami chapter of the Walk Now for Autism Speaks event fundraiser on April 19. Additionally, Imusa will continue its partnership with local grocery chain, Sedano's Supermarkets, and the annual Puzzle Piece Campaign. Shoppers can make a $1 donation per puzzle piece to help raise money and awareness for Autism Speaks.

Sartori Launches Certification Program
Sartori Company, Plymouth, Wis., has launched a Certified Cut and Wrap Cheese Program to serve as a guide for in-store cutting and wrapping of artisanal cheese. Cheesemongers and enthusiasts are invited to visit the website to watch seven videos and test their knowledge to become "Sartori Certified."

The program offers insights and recommendations on cheese case set up, sanitation and safety, cutting and wrapping multiple varieties of cheese, and merchandising and maintaining a cheese case. Following the videos, a short 35-question exam is presented with the opportunity to become "Sartori Certified."

Tea Vet Steven Smith Dies
Steven Smith, the man credited with introducing the masses to specialty tea, died March 23 from complications from cancer. He was 65.

During his 40+ year in the tea industry, Smith cofounded Stash Tea, Tazo Tea and the premium tea company Steven Smith Teamaker. In January, Smith was one of the 114 specialty food pioneers inducted into the Specialty Food Association's Hall of Fame.

Biena Foods Obtains Non-GMO Status
Biena Foods' entire line of roasted chickpea snacks are now Non-GMO Project verified.

King Arthur Flour Hires VP of Sales
King Arthur Flour hired Beth Kluge as vice president of sales. Kluge, who has more than 25 years of experience of sales leadership in the bread and baking industry, oversees wholesale product sales of the company's traditional, specialty and gluten-free flours and baking mixes.

Gourmet Guru Picks Up RTD Beverage
Sweet'tauk LLC partnered with Gourmet Guru, a natural and organic products distributor based in Bronx, N.Y., to distribute its line of fresh squeezed and cold pressed, high pressure processed (HPP) lemonade. Gourmet Guru, says the natural RTD beverage line is an ideal addition to its product catalog. The line includes Oh My Meyer made with Meyer lemons, Mermaid pink lemonade made with hibiscus, Strawberry Mint and Zingy Ginger.
