Spanish Food Hall Coming to NYC
Jose Andres of ThinkFoodGroup along with brothers Ferran and Albert Adria, whose El Bulli restaurant in Spain closed in 2011 are the latest chefs to join the food hall craze. They have signed on to open a 35,000-square-foot Spanish food hall in New York City. The project will be along the lines of Mario Batali’s Eataly, but with a Spanish flair.
The Hudson Yards location on Manhattan’s West Side will feature all types of concepts from slightly formal to tapas to wine bars, and could open as early as next year. The food hall is billed as a dynamic, all-day destination for Spanish food, drink and culture with a world-class tapas bar and shopping. It will be a fresh, ground-braking take on the food hall concept featuring the very best that Spain has to offer, according a the press release from ThinkFoodGroup.
“I cannot wait to tell the story of Spain to my adopted home of America in this iconic new neighborhood,” Andrés said in the news release.
