Dorothy Lane Adds Instagram Streaming to Store

Dorothy Lane Market (DLM) is taking social media and the in-store experience to the next level.  The specialty grocery store has added digital signage that streams its Instagram feed to its Centerville, Ohio, location.

DLM has added SNS Wall, a media-rich digital signage by CIP Retail in Fairfield that integrates social media platforms into the brick-and-mortar shopping experience.

 The ten 20 x 20-inch digital screens pull content DLM’s Instagram feed (@DorothyLaneMarket) and are positioned in a mosaic-like pattern near the check out at the front end of the store.

SNS Wall updates content in real-time and the Android mobile app allows the DLM social media team to access a user interface control panel where they can set certain parameters, in terms of how far back it pulls content from, what type of content is permitted (images, videos, or both), on screen duration, and even specific hashtags and page information that are permission based, and then streamed within the store environment.

“In addition to spotlighting our Instagram feed, we’re also experimenting with how to incorporate specific hashtags during special promotions; including integrating some user-generated content from DLM customers, as they’re incredibly savvy in how they showcase food from our stores on Instagram,” said Patrick Arnold, DLM vp of IT & marketing.

For CIP Retail, DLM is the first retail location to showcase SNS wall.
